The Tri-I Consulting club will be putting on a 2-day Consulting Job Preparation Bootcamp held on Saturday, May 21st 2016 and Sunday, May 22nd 2016.
This 2-day bootcamp is designed to help you prepare for a job in management consulting. The first day will be a series of lecture style presentations held by the company, Management Consulted. It will be dedicated to information about the consulting interview process, networking, how to write a resume and cover letter and some business basics. The second day will be dedicated solely to preparing you for the case part of the interview. This part will be in smaller interactive groups and presented by people who are experienced in casing. A breakdown of each day is listed below:
Day 1: Saturday, May 21st (Caspary Auditorium at Rockefeller University)
- 9-10AM – What is Consulting – Really?
- 10-10:45AM – The Consulting Recruiting Process
- 10:45-11AM – Quick break (coffee)
- 11-12PM – Networking for Consulting
- 12-1PM – The Consulting-Focused Resume
- 1-2PM – Lunch (Lunch will be provided)
- 2-3PM – Consulting Cover Letters
- 3-4PM – Business Basics for Consulting
Day 2: Sunday, May 22nd (CRC Rm 206, 306, 406, 506 at Rockefeller University)

- 10:30-11:00 Part 2: Receiving and Opening a Case
- 11:00-12:00 Part 3: Frameworks
- 12:00-1:00 Lunch Break
- 1:00-2:45 Part 4: Cracking the Case
- 2:45-3:00 Part 5: Closing the Case
- 3:00-3:45 Part 6: Full-case
- 3:45-4:00 Part 7: Final thoughts and next steps
There are two options available for payment. You can either buy a ticket for each day individually for $30 each, or get a combo deal of both days for $50. The event will be advertised for the first week to only the Tri-I area, but afterwards will be advertised to other schools in the NY area.
